Gandy Dancers

Oil on canvas/ 60” by 72”

This piece was done in 1983, entered in the Mid-American Bi-Annual, and juried by Thomas Messer of the Guggenheim Museum. It was selected to travel throughout the mid West and was purchased by the Owensboro Museum of Art for their permanent collection. It depicts the 3C government program that laid tracks throughout the country. Sons of immigrants often participated. My father is third from the right.
